Winter

There’s a wide range of activities to participate in during the winter ski season at Isola 2000 as well as skiing and snowboarding; from snowshoeing to horse drawn sleigh rides. If you hire a car from Nice airport you can take the time to visit some of the neighbouring villages.

Ice Skating – the outdoor ice rink is situated down at the main resort buildings, it is open subject to weather conditions. Open every day 3.30pm to 7.30pm. Tariffs (include entry and skates) – adults 8€, children 6€.

Snowshoeing – one of our favourite activities. Take a walk on snowshoes around the resorts and experience the tranquility of the snowy mountains, you might even see a chamois. Snowshoes can be hired from most rental shops in the resort, guided tours of the resort and surrounding mountains are available; the tourist office and ski school have more information.

Night Skiing – every Tuesday and Friday between 8pm and 10pm during the school holidays the piste “Belvedere” and accompanying poma lift are open and floodlit.

Cross Country Skiing – at the little village of St Dalmas le Selvage you can try cross country skiing and ice climbing. Visit http://www.saintdalmasleselvage.com  for more details.

Ice Driving – the Trophee Andros is held at Isola 2000 each year. Why not try your hand at ice driving – with lessons or racing? More information at http://www.sportsloisirs.net.

Skidooing – there are guided skidoo tours around the resort, sometimes to one of the mountain restaurants “La Valette” for dinner. See http://www.sportsloisirs.net for more information, or go to Chalet Belvedere behind the chapel.

Sleigh Tours – take in the spectacular mountain scenery on board a traditional Austrian sleigh, for more information enquire at the restaurant “La Bergerie” on the Front de Neige.

Swimming at Aquavallée – this large swimming complex with water slide, sauna, jacuzzi, gym and squash courts, down at Isola village is perfect for unwinding. Open 10am to 8pm during school holidays, 11am to 8pm outside the school holidays.

Cinema – why not visit the cinema in the lower area of the Galerie Marchande and take in a film after a hard days skiing. Two showings per day.
